About the role
The AI Research Engineer 6 (Technical Lead) will own the technical vision and roadmap for reward modeling, utility estimation and multi‑objective optimization within Algo Core, driving cross‑functional partnerships, integrating these capabilities across member‑facing AI models, designing experiments to measure impact, and mentoring the team.

Requirements
- 6+ years of industry experience applying machine learning and delivering production systems
- Proven ability to drive successful partnerships with technical and non‑technical stakeholders
- Master’s or PhD in computer science, statistics, mathematics, operations research, physics, or related computational field
- Deep expertise in machine‑learning and optimization algorithms/frameworks, with hands‑on experience training, tuning, and deploying models in production
- Experience with reward modeling, utility estimation, constrained‑optimization, or auction‑based allocation systems
- Strong software engineering skills in Python; experience with Scala or Java
- Strong 80/20 mindset: scope the right problem, ship pragmatically, maintain rigorous standards without over‑engineering
